Within the space of thirty years, the Singapore I was born in, where I spent my first few years on a farm, in a kampung, has transformed into a city of wealth and skyscrapers. Yet underneath that facade, lies a country with soul and uniqueness still, a melting pot of cultures, cuisines and shared histories. I’ve been getting back in touch with life here by sketching and painting scenes from a home I feel nostalgic for, yet sometimes don’t recognise and am keen to learn more about.
